April 1 is “Grace Day” – no fool’n. If you feel like you have fallen behind and may not catch up, you have been given grace. Just start again where you should be.
This week also starts the book of Judges. This book portrays a 200 year history of relapses into idolatry by Israel, followed by invasions of the Promised Land and oppression by their enemies and then deliverance by God. The verse that summarizes this book is found in chapter 17 verse 6 “In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as he saw fit.” There are 14 judges, including some well-known characters like Deborah, Gideon, and Samson.
Here is the thirteenth week's chronological Bible reading schedule:

For practicing Lectio Divina, focus on a short passage, verse, or even a word to meditate on throughout the week. I am meditating on part of a verse found in Joshua 24:15 "choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…"
